Lumos Solutions — design & development studio, Cairo

We build the storesbrands sell from, and the systemscompanies run on.

Lumos is a ten-person studio in Cairo. We design and build online stores for fashion and lifestyle brands, and websites and business software for growing companies — then we stay on after launch to keep them working.

Thirty minutes on video: we look at your store or website with you and tell you what we'd change first.

How we think

Most websites are finished the day they launch and start ageing the day after. We would rather build fewer things, build them properly, and stay around to make them better.

In practice that means a project manager you can actually reach, testers who check every order and enquiry flow on real phones before you see it, and a written scope that says what is included before any work starts.

It also means telling you when you don't need us. If a theme, an app or a simpler platform does the job, we'll say so, and point you to it.

Who we work with

Brands

Fashion & lifestyle brands

You sell clothing, jewellery, fragrance or beauty, mostly to people holding a phone. You need a store that's quick to browse and buy from, connected to your payments and delivery, and looked after between collections.

  • Online store design and build, usually on Shopify
  • Custom features when an app won't do
  • A monthly plan for campaigns, fixes and improvements
Stores for brands

Companies

Developers, contractors & distributors

Your clients look at your website before they call, and your sales team runs on WhatsApp and spreadsheets. We build the website that gets you on the shortlist, and the software behind it when the spreadsheets stop coping.

  • Company websites your team can update
  • Customer, dealer and quotation portals
  • Connections to the tools you already use

How a project runs

  1. Listen

A call about your business, what's working and what isn't.

  2. Scope

A written scope: what's in, what's out, who does what, and by when.

  3. Design

The key pages designed and agreed before development starts.

  4. Build & test

Built in stages with your project manager; tested on real devices.

  5. Launch & look after

We watch the first orders or enquiries, and stay on for what comes next.

06

After launch

A website is never finished. Someone should own it.

For brands on Shopify

Growth Retainer

A fixed block of hours each month, spent on what matters that month: a campaign page, a new collection layout, an app that needs replacing, a slow product page. You get a short report of what changed.

For company websites and smaller stores

Care Plan

Updates, backups, uptime monitoring and security checks, plus a few hours each month for the changes that always come up.

Both are scoped and priced per site. If we built your site and you'd like a plan, ask us. Ask about a monthly plan

Questions

Questions people ask before they call

Which platforms do you build on?

Whatever fits the job. Most of the brand stores we build run on Shopify and most company websites on WordPress; portals and business software are built to order and connected to what you already use. We'll explain why we recommend a platform, including when a cheaper one would do.

Can you take over a site someone else built?

Yes. We start by reviewing the theme, apps and code, then tell you what we'd keep, fix or rebuild before we quote.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the scope and on how ready your content is. You'll get a dated plan with the proposal, with the parts that depend on you marked clearly.

Who owns the site and the code?

You do. Accounts, code and content are handed over to you on final payment.

How do card payments work for online stores in Egypt?

Shopify Payments isn't offered in Egypt or Saudi Arabia (it is in the UAE), so Egyptian stores use a local card gateway such as Paymob, usually alongside cash on delivery. We set up the options you need and test every path — paid, refunded, failed, cash on delivery — before launch.

Do you work with clients outside Egypt?

Most of our clients are in Egypt, and we've delivered projects for clients in Saudi Arabia. We work remotely, over video calls, email and WhatsApp.
